A Wall of Separation

Major Hasan is a follower of a radical Muslim ideology that is advocated by hundreds of Islamic scholars throughout the United States. As a result, there are numerous Islamic leaders and support organizations in our country who are anti-American and who espouse bombings, beheadings, murder and so-called Muslim honor killing. We as a country cannot continue to play ostrich burying our politically correct heads in the sand while these organizations and activities continue to operate within our borders.

Radical Islam is determined to destroy all States and Governments anywhere on the face of the earth which oppose their ideology and politics. These radicals are driven by open hatred directed toward Non-Muslims, Jews, and all those who do not adhere to Sharia (Muslim) law. That will not change no matter how obsequiously President Obama bows to the Muslim word.

Had the attack of 9-11 been committed by 20 Episcopalians rather than 20 Muslims, we would have had Congressional hearings and a national debate on the need to restrain the Episcopal Church. Why don’t we have a national debate on restraining Islam? We don’t because we are fearfully pathetic and so politically correct that we have become an embarrassment and a danger to ourselves.

The unseen elephant in the tent remains Islam. Is it possible to be a good American and a good Muslim at the same time? Is it possible to serve in the U.S. military and to be trusted to preserve, protect and defend America and still be a Muslim?

The answer to both questions is “Yes” but only if the American Constitution and our
American way of life are placed at the top of the list. Koranic political doctrine and directives have to come much further down the list of priorities. Islam and the Koran are a  mind-set that is part religious passion, part religious instruction and part political party platform. Prudence dictates that there always be a wall of separation between mosque and state.

Many Muslim schools throughout the world and within the United States teach that Allah rewards Muslims if they kill Non-Muslims and Jews. Mamoud Ahmadinejad, the President of Iran, believes that fighting a nuclear war with Israel in which all Iranians die is just and holy provided all the Jews in Israel die at the same time.

Meanwhile President Obama has transitioned from his “be sweet and gentle to Muslims” discourse to a “don’t be too quick to pass judgment on Major Hasan” directive. After all only fifty or more people were eye witnesses to the slaughter and we don’t want to offend Muslims by declaring what really happened, do we? But in light of the horrific events that took place at Fort Hood, can we continue to treat Islam as though it were not a real threat to America?

No, we cannot continue handling America’s Muslim population the same way we have handled them in the past. We must insist that Muslim leaders take full responsibility for their people and for what their children are taught and do. If they desire to reside in America and enjoy the benefits of our Constitution and our American way of life, they must teach their children that they are Americans first and foremost. If that offends them, they need to immigrate to some other country.

A lot has gone wrong recently, so how do we get the nation back on track? First, we must insist that Muslim leaders purge Islamic and political radicals from leadership and teaching positions in their communities, and maintain a wall of separation between mosque and state.

Second, America must rid itself of being so timid and politically correct when handling or talking about things “Muslim”. The Constitution applies to all Americans and it should be applied equally. All of us should obey the same laws and there can be no place in our nation for those who want to live under Sharia or some other kind of foreign or religious law.

I do not pretend to know what motivates Muslims to make the choices they do. That is a mystery. But what is not a mystery are the hard choices we Americans now have to face because of Muslim terrorism and radicalism -- choices reminiscent of those forced on the Jews by Germany in the 1930s.

But let Islamic terrorists and their enablers be warned. We are Americans and we will fight them and their evil to the death -- whenever and wherever we must. And when we fight, we will win!
